13. YouTube with extended data protection mode

Our website uses plugins from YouTube’s site, which is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
We use YouTube’s extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store information about visitors of this website before they watch the video. YouTube will open a connection to Google’s DoubleClick network, regardless of whether you watch a video (collecting IP-address and time of request).

As soon as you start a YouTube video on our website, a connection to YouTube’s servers is opened. In the process, the YouTube server receives information about which of our sites you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you are allowing YouTube to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Moreover, YouTube can save different cookies on your device once a video has started. YouTube can use these cookies to obtain information about visitors to our website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve the user experience, and prevent fraud. The cookies stay on your device until you delete them. It is possible for additional data processing operations to launch after a YouTube video has started, which we cannot influence.

We use YouTube to enable an appealing presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art.6 (1) point (f) GDPR.
